GLOBAL COURSES
MYTH, RITUAL, & MYSTICISM
A course that taught me the anthropological approaches when studying myth, ritual, and mysticism, as religious and symbolic systems. The social and psychological traditions and customs that took place in small-scale and complex societies around the world were compared.
WORLD REGIONAL GEOGRAPHY
A course that emphasized the topics of climate, natural resources, economic development, and population patterns in major regions and countries of the world. This allowed me to gain knowledge on all parts of the world in regards to their physical, cultural, and political characteristics.
COMMUNICATION IN FILM
A course that taught me the unique relationship between communication and film. We studied films from different eras (i.e. the silent film era) and films in different languages from different countries, we then compared them to the modern communication and film techniques of today.
INTRODUCTION TO ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE & SUSTAINABILITY
A course that emphasized the scientific knowledge of the environment and encouraged sustainability. Topics discussed were nutrient cycling, pollution, desertification, climate change, energy, water resources, and biodiversity loss. This allowed me to consider the environment from a global perspective and how society around the world has effected it over time.
